Owned and controlled by its Directors, the company has seen successive years of growth and now ranks as one of the leading companies offering national coverage. We have the credibility of being members of both The British Parking Association and the industry’s Approved Operators Scheme.
Britannia operates permanent multi-storey car parks as well as temporary sites awaiting development. Britannia owns a number of their sites and is always actively seeking to enlarge its freehold portfolio. We also offer management services to retailers, institutions, local authorities, supermarket operators, hotel groups and leisure operators.
Our portfolio is based around a number of multi storey car parks serving large shopping developments with such diverse locations as Glasgow, Birmingham, Barnet, Milton Keynes, Ilford, Hamilton and Bangor. We also operate multi storey car parks within mixed use retail and leisure schemes in towns such as Bradford, Weymouth, Bournemouth and Plymouth.
Since the late 1990’s we have managed car parks on behalf of Waitrose Stores Limited. We started with three new stores within the M25 and are now proud to be Waitrose’s preferred car park management company, looking after in excess of fifty of their stores from Brighton to Edinburgh. Likewise, we started by trialing twenty Travelodge hotel locations and are now rolling the concept of charging out across their portfolio too.
In addition to the general supply and management of car parking, the company uses its expertise to provide innovative solutions to specific parking problems within the public and private sector. One such solution lead, in 1996, to the provision of corporate specific ‘Park & Ride’ facility. Britannia supplies a complete package via its fleet of coaches and buses giving a personalised PSV licensed transport arm to large employers. Clients for this service include: JP Morgan Chase, Liverpool Victoria Friendly Society and Associated British Ports. Normally performed in close liaison with local authorities, solutions are also tailored to ensure that environmental concerns are properly addressed.
Since Britannia’s inception it has grown to offer the complete spectrum of parking related services. We continue to receive referrals and invitations to tender on development projects. Typically we partner with the main retail or commercial developer, providing car parking advice and solutions to ensure that when we take over the parking contract, or lease, revenue and service is maximized. Thus, Britannia is in a unique position to be proactive in creating tailor made solutions to parking and transport issues throughout the UK.
